Summary: Student Drop-off and Pick-up Directions

West Seattle ES student drop-off/pick-up directions and parking information.

Help us keep kids safe! Follow these rules when you travel to and from school:

  • Do cross only at crosswalks and corners
  • Do find a legal parking space and walk with your child
  • Do stay with your car at all times in the loading zones
  • Do Not make U-turns or load/unload in intersections
  • Do Not park in the school bus loading zones (7:45-8:15 a.m. and 2-2:35 p.m./12:45-1:25 p.m. Wednesdays).

We encourage families to walk, roll, or bike with your child to school. Do not park or stop to load or unload in an intersection. Parking is never allowed within 5 feet of a driveway, 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 20 feet of a crosswalk or intersection, or 30 feet of a stop or yield sign. Parking is also not allowed in loading zones, alleys, on sidewalks or planting strips, in tow-away zones, bus zones, or no-parking zones.

After-School Programs – Building Entry Guidelines for Families
To help keep all students safe during after-school programs, please follow these expectations:

  1. Students and family members should not be in the building without staff supervision.
  2. Students should not open doors for anyone. This rule will be discussed with students.
  3. Please wait outside for your children to be dismissed.
  4. If you have a circumstance in which you must stay in the building during your child’s
activity, please discuss with the club’s point-person and remain in the same room where
    the activity is taking place.
  5. In case of emergency, a custodial contact phone number is posted on the door.
