Announcements for the 2014-2015 School Year

West Seattle Elementary School hosts Kindergarten/School Tours every Wednesday, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM January 28, February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th.

Please call Diane Stuart in the School Office to schedule your tour.  (206) 252-9450.
Parents may bring their next-year kindergarten age student with them for the tour.  Please make other arrangements for babies and toddlers.

Ongoing: Box Tops for Education
Please send in your Box Tops with your child. Each Box Top earns 10 cents for our school. Over the school year, this adds up to hundreds of dollars that help fund extra field trips, school supplies and more!

Coming Soon: Husky Spirit Wear
Last year’s t-shirts and sweatshirts were a huge hit. Look out for a newly designed logo and don’t miss out on this one-time opportunity to show your husky pride! New this year: stickers!

Congratulations to Mrs. Raymond and Mrs. Suh's class on collecting the most Box Tops for Education. These two classes alone brought in more than 1,000 Box Tops this fall!

The winnings classes received a popcorn and movie party! Way to go. Thanks to all the teachers and students who have brought in Box Tops!

West Seattle Elementary School was awarded a $2500 grant from the Fuel up to Play 60 Program. Fuel Up to Play 60 is a partnership between the NFL and the Dairy Council. The goal of the program is to decrease childhood obesity by helping kids learn about healthy eating and increased physical activity. Since the start of the school year we have had two physical activity challenges and taste tested healthy smoothies. Students have had the chance to win fun prizes and be acknowledged for their healthy habits. Stay tuned for more fun challenges and activities!

If you have questions about the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program, please contact Terri Helm-Remund, the School Nurse. She is the Program Advisor for Fuel Up.
