Fourth and Fifth graders raise funds for IslandWood Outdoor Education:
West Seattle Elementary recognized for success!!!
Congratulations to Mrs. Raymond and Mrs. Suh's class on collecting the most Box Tops for Education. These two classes alone brought in more than 1,000 Box Tops this fall!
The winnings classes received a popcorn and movie party! Way to go. Thanks to all the teachers and students who have brought in Box Tops!
West Seattle Elementary hosts its yearly Scholastic Book Fair in the library. Students will select $7 of free books on the day their class visits the library.
The book fair is open from 12/09-12/13 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and late on Friday 12/13 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Additional books can be purchased with cash only.
Families are welcome to come shop for books on the evening of the 13th prior to movie night. A teacher wish list will be posted for families wishing to gift a book to their child's teacher.

West Seattle Elementary School was awarded a $2500 grant from the Fuel up to Play 60 Program. Fuel Up to Play 60 is a partnership between the NFL and the Dairy Council. The goal of the program is to decrease childhood obesity by helping kids learn about healthy eating and increased physical activity. Since the start of the school year we have had two physical activity challenges and taste tested healthy smoothies. Students have had the chance to win fun prizes and be acknowledged for their healthy habits. Stay tuned for more fun challenges and activities!
