Why is parent involvement in school is important?

Many researchers show that parent involvement in schools improves student academic success, reduces truancy and increases parent confidence in their children’s education.

We encourage you to get involved with the school and partner with us in your child’s education. Parent involvement is very important because teachers can teach and create a safe learning environment for students only when they have the support of parents and guardians.

For example, teachers can’t guarantee your child gets an adequate night sleep. And they can’t make sure your child comes to school on time ready to learn and only misses classes when necessary. For this reason and many others, parents and guardian play an enormous role in creating a successful educational outcome for their children.  If you need more information regarding parent involvement , please feel free to call me at 206-252-9456 or email me at asali@seattleschools.org
