The purpose of the West Seattle Elementary library is to support all students in becoming lifelong learners and successful readers.

- The library is staffed with a welcoming, full-time librarian.
- Each class visits the library on a weekly basis to learn library skills, enjoy read-alouds and check out materials.
- The library has a collection of over 10,000 books, carefully selected for student interest and instructional need.
What's going on in the library?
November 1st, 4th and 5th grade students will have access to the titles for this year's Global Reading Challenge. The Global Reading Challenge is an exciting team challenge in collaboration with the Seattle Public Library.
Students are working hard on reading for Accelerated Reader points. Several students have passed the 100 point mark. At the end of the year, we will have a Principal's Party for students who reach their grade goal.
2nd grade: 20 points
3rd grade: 30 points
4th grade: 40 points
5th grade: 50 points
